ENROLLMENT

We accept all children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old, regardless of race, color, sex, creed, religion, national or ethnic origin, handicap or mental condition.

As an open, nondiscriminatory center, Heritage Learning Center encourages parents of children with special needs to consider enrollment in our program. We have several staff members who have valuable experience working with special needs children. Our center strives to include each child fully, and will make reasonable accommodations for children who may need them to ensure that every child feels included and special.

In accordance with The Maryland State Department of Education, each child is required to have an application packet filled in before they can be enrolled in our Learning Center.

Welcome Week

To ensure that every child has a smooth and successful transition into our center, we require all new students to complete a Welcome Week. The idea behind a Welcome Week is a gradual transition into the new environment. Each family must turn in the form found below to ensure understanding of the Welcome Week schedule. The schedule is as follows:

Day 1- Child attends for 30 mins. Parents are allowed to stay in the lobby during this time. This is a good time to speak to your child's teacher(s) and drop off any important information to the director.

Day 2- Child attends for 2 hours. Parents may drop off between 9:30 and 10:00.

Day 3- Child attends for half day. Please send in a packed lunch. Parents pick up at 12:45pm.

Day 4- Child attends for either a half day or a full day depending on the child's needs. If the child will stay for a nap (Please send in sheets and a blanket).
